Becoming a lake bum

Clinton had to go back to the lake today to take up his trot lines. We were planning to take Emma out on the boat for the first time, but all she wanted to do was play in the water again!

*This time I remembered to empty my memory card before we went!

Trying to coax her out into the water!

Fishing for minnows.

"That MY flutterby net!"

Trying to get the net from her daddy!

Trying her hand at minnow fishing!

She's concentrating hard, can't you tell?

Memorial Day at the Lake!

We spent Memorial Day at the lake with friends, Mike & Regan Anders and their kids Colt & Livi. We picnicked and the kids played in the sand. Then the guys went fishing and the kids played in the water. My memory card was full, so I only got a few pictures, but it was a great day!

Emma and Colt checking it all out.

I wonder what they are talking about!

They are hunting alligators!

They played so good together!

Water Babies

We went to Kirk's 7th Birthday party tonight. Since it rained last night, there was a puddle on the concrete. Of course the kids played in it. Emma was no exception, and more than likely, the ringleader of the whole ordeal.

It all started when Emma and Kinsley showed off their matching shoes. To get them to stand still, I suggested they stand in the water! I guess it is all my fault!

Things started pretty tame, just walking in the water.

Then the shoes came off!

They walked back...

and forth!

Then the speed picked up a lil bit!

Next thing we know, they are sitting in the water!!

WHAT IS THIS??

I showed Emma how to make hand prints.

Everyone took a break to watch Kirk blow out the candles

and open presents.

But Emma was more interested in playing with the water shooter they all got.

Once hers got dirty, though, she wanted a new one.

She didn't really understand how to get the water inside!

Then things really started to get wild!

I don't think Brodie appreciated getting sprayed!

This is when I forbade them from spraying in my direction!

And this is how Emma had to come home! She was soaked!

Emma + EB= BFF

Well, I think that title might be a little one-sided. I really doubt EB would say that statement is true.

I have written before about how our household grew by one... one bunny. EB, the bunny.

Emma LOVES him. Wants to hold him, pick him up, chase him around the yard, feed him carrots, give him water. Just about anything with EB, but clean his cage. Which I get to do.

EB really doesn't want anything to do with Emma. How many tiny, fragile bunnies would want a wild two-year-old manhandling them all the time. NONE!

Here are some of Em & EB's adventures...

She had him captured in her playhouse. I had to rescue him.

Yeah, he looks sooo happy!

Em thought he wanted to go for a drive :)

But he ran away :(

Em thought it was great fun to chase him :)

I'm sure he loved it when she caught him :/

Pictures

We had some family pictures made today! First time we've ever had any made of all of us together. We've done Clinton and Emma, me and Emma, Emma by herself, and more of Emma, but never any family pics. Weird, huh? My cousin-in-law, Jeremy, of JL Fotoz, took them for us. He has taken a few of Emma before (note the tricycle picture in the right corner of the blog), but Em was super bad that day, so we didn't get many good ones.

Anyway, I had the BRILLIANT idea of her "fishing" in the fountain downtown! So while Jeremy was doing his thing, I snapped a few with my camera.

I just thought this idea was fun! Emma really enjoyed it too!

Oddly enough, Jeremy and I have the same camera! But I don't know how to use the functions on mine. Or edit. And I'm too lazy to teach myself. I even have the "Photoshop for Dummies" book. Apparently, I'm a super big dummy! :)

I'll post some of the final pics once they are done!
