Walking in the woods

Since we had some semi-decent weather this week, Clinton and I took Emma to Cuthand to get outside for awhile. We went to the "Old Place" because Memaw & Papa where down there, as well as my Daddy (Emma's Papaw). Once we got down there, we went on a little walk in the woods. (When Emma saw these pictures, she said she was in the jungle! Silly kid!)

Checking to make sure I was still back there.
I have so pictures like this.

Clinton trying to explain something to me.

I was just trying to be artistic here.

Emma started gathering up sticks, saying she was going to take them to Memaw, etc.

My new favorite picture!

Back at the camp house.

Papaw offered to take her for a ride.

Almost up there!

And they were off.... for about a minute, when she cried for her Mommy!

Basketball!

I took Emma to Jalyn's basketball game yesterday at RHS. It was her first one!

Kamryn (TamTam) tried to hide his smiley face from me, but I caught him!

Em wasn't into it at first...

Bradyn (BrayBray) looks like he's having a lot of fun.

#31- sitting on the bench!

But not for long!

Once the clapping started... she is such a little cheerleader!

JayJay chasing down his man.

Set to guard the ball.

Yeah, he's paying a lot of attention here.

Emma cheering!

And playing with BrayBray!

He tried to pick her up. I warned him that she is almost too heavy for me.

More clapping!

Sitting with Trishia (Aunt TeeTee).

Good catch!
Jay did really good! He made two baskets and stole the ball a couple of times. On top of that, his team won! Go Rebels!

Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?

I do! Like the crazy cousins said on King of Queens, "New Orleans is OUR town!" In fact, in the past 10 years, Clinton and I have been 7 times.

We haven't made any definite plans to go this year, however. We've said maybe, if we can swing it after our (semi) planned family beach vacation. But then, this arrived in the mailbox...

And that feeling came back... that bottom of the heart yearning. For some reason, Clinton and I both get these feelings of yearning to go there! We love that town! For those of you who haven't been, it really has little to do with Bourbon Street, although, we have spent our time there. It's the food, atmosphere, and people! Since I have those feelings, I did some reminiscing and looked through some of our old pictures. Here are a few of my faves of the trip we took in May of 2008. (I was pregnant with Emma!!)

This is a picture of a picture of the 9th Ward after Hurricane Katrina.

My mouth is watering. These are the best fried pies, EVER! Yes, even better than my Memaw's. Yes, I said it!

Oh my God! I could go for some of this right now!

Just because I was pregnant, Clinton didn't feel as if he should miss out!

These guys ended up on America's Got Talent!
I realize that these pictures mainly show the French Quarter, but there is so much more to see!

Last year, we took Emma for the first time. I wrote about it here and later posted the pictures here.

Her first beignet!

Playing with Clinton in Jackson Square.
I think I'll go flip through the new Visitor's Guide, and plan a trip, even if it is only a wishful thinking one!

Alex's PARTY!

Since Alex's birthday is so close to Christmas, Andrea decided to have her "friend" party in January. We had a small party on her birthday! I asked Andrea the day of the party how it ended up at my house. We discussed and came to the conclusion that I had volunteered. I did? Yes, I did. It was really fun!

Emma sneaking some food before the party!

The little girls had a tea party of their own. (I really should do something about that table!)

The big girls had a tea party, too!

Then they decorated cupcakes!

The little girls decorated some, too!

Then some dancing broke out!

Emma & Kinsley were singing back-up!

Emma's a rock star!

They were gettin it!

Alex belting it out!

I think this is where the lack of nap came in...
